Foundation plants, a clear walk, and restrained color usually beat a cluttered mix of whatever was on sale.
Front yards work when structure comes first: evergreen bones, a readable path to the door, and beds sized to the house. Seasonal color is the accent, not the entire plan.
Repeat a short plant palette so the composition feels calm from the street. Keep taller shrubs from covering windows, and leave room for mature size. Lighting and edged beds finish the look at dusk.
If your front yard feels busy but unfinished, a simplified planting plan often adds more value than buying more plants.
